Erivelton's GSoC 2019

Community Bounding Begins

May 08, 2019 — under ,

So here we go to one more season of Google Summer of Code. This time I will be working with MBDyn, a Free Multibody Dynamic Simulation tool.

It is my second time working with an Open Source Community under Google Summer of Code. The first time, I had the pleasure to work with GNU Octave mentored by Douglas Stewart and John Swensen, where I developed the initial prototype for an Interactive Tool for Single Input Single Output (SISO) Linear Control System Design. For more information about this project, you can take a look here.

This time, I decided to join a different community, which will also be advantageous for PhD studies.

So here I am, after passing the MBDyn entry test, I received the results from GSoC team and Louis Gagnon that I was selected. For more information about my entry test, I wrote a post here talking about it:

In case you are not familiar with MBDyn, you may find plenty of information at MBDyn website. Additionally, I will use this blog to keep my work public and share as much information as I can about the software, how to use it and how to develop it as well. I hope this blog website can be useful for:

Glance of the Project

The project is named Consistent Inertia in Beam Elements and it will be mentored by Marco Morandini and Andrea Zanoni along side with Pierangelo Masarati.

The initial proposal of the project can be found .

A more detailed post about the project will be prepared in this community bounding period. My expectations is that in this period I become more familiar with the tool and establish a more detailed milestone/timeline for the project.

Stay tuned !
